Sille Sikmann’s men shoes
Sille Sikmann launched her Sheckmann label in 2011 with the concept to create handmade, well fitting shoes, adding a personalised touch to classic footwear designs for men. Educated at Tartu Art College in Estonia and the HAMK of Applied Science in Finland, Sikmann has won an honourable mention at the 2012 Estonian Design Awards and a nomination for the 2012 young designer’s award SÄSI. In February 2014, Sille Sikmann took part of International Fashion Showcase's Estonian exhibition, organised during London Fashion Week. Estonian showcase won the main prize for the second time.
Scheckmann AW 2014 Collection The Guardian comprises of handbags and winter boots. Each piece portrays luxurious charm by the combined use of wood, textile and high quality leather paired with exquisite craftsmanship. The sharp details on the accessories, such as their wooden buttons and straps, allude to ancient weaponry, revealing the essence of the wearer as both a protector, guardian and a wild spirit.
